Description
These handpainted dinner plates were made by "Joni" of the Stetson China Company sometime between 1946 and 1966 when the pattern was discontinued. The pattern, known as Dixie Dogwood, showcases a chartreuse green dogwood flower, with red-tipped petals, black stems, and deep green leaves. "The legend of the Dogwood dates back to the crucifixion. Early lore likens the Dogwood petals, shaped like a cross and stained with red, to the Cross of Calvary. My Grandma loved this pattern, as I now do. They have held up well over the years. I also love her wooden handle, bent fork. I miss her dearly, using these keeps her close.
